According to my syllabus, The International Baccalaureate (IB) Film Standard Level (SL) course aims for students to develop an appreciation of the art of filmmaking through an academic lens, utilizing "critical thinking, reflective analysis, and imaginative synthesis through practical engagement in the art, craft, and study of film" (Diploma Programme Subject Brief the Arts: Film, 2017, p. 2)
